Director – Digital Product Management

What you'll do

Overview 

The Director - Digital Product Management will provide the deep product expertise needed to lead the organization and make strategic product decisions. He/she will analyze market and competitive conditions and leverage insights and metrics to lay out a product vision that is differentiated and delivers unique value based on customer demands. The role spans many activities from strategic to tactical and provides important cross-functional leadership —most notably between engineering, marketing, and support teams. The product management lead is the person responsible for understanding the why, when, and what of the products that the engineering team builds.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

Vision and Strategy

  • Manage the product roadmap and backlog for all digital products, incorporating input from cross-functional partners in the business and technology teams
  • Drive an MVP mindset organizationally, deriving maximum value from minimum effort in product development

Product Delivery

  • Oversee and manage requirements discovery, solution design, user story writing, feature development, and user acceptance testing
  • Partner with technology team to ensure technical debt is remediated in every iteration
  • Perform pre/post launch analysis to measure and report on product performance metrics

User Experience

  • Define when feature/product launches are customer-ready
  • Incorporate user feedback into continuous improvement cycles, iterating, and ensuring “no regrets” releases
  • Recommend audiences for canary/dark launches to collect fast feedback

Digital Marketing

  • Work with product marketing to develop positioning and messaging to ensure differentiation from competitors
  • Leverage the power of the marketing organization to identify high-ROI efforts and innovation/experimentation opportunities

Vendor Management

  • Own the business relationships with third-party delivery providers and other channel partners, partnering with the technology team to onboard additional partners as needed
  • Influence vendor feature roadmaps to ensure Wendy’s is achieving maximum value and speed to market from our partners in support of our digital strategy

What we expect from you

Education / Experience

  • Bachelors Degree: Technology, Marketing, or Business
  • Master’s Degree in Business or Technological field preferred.

  • 8+ years of solid experience in omnichannel product management/e-commerce, with a proven track record of successfully launching new products/features (Payment experience is a plus)

  • 5+ years experience with Agile methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, etc.

  • Demonstrated success in identifying and driving innovative solutions through productive and lasting partnerships with business partners.

  • Vision for how to accomplish complex implementations across multiple product and technology teams

  • Passion for user-centric design; commitment to research, competitive analysis, user/stakeholder reviews, analytics and un-biased recommendations in a highly collaborative environment

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
