What you'll do Overview The Director is responsible for the development and execution of comprehensive and Global food safety, quality assurance and regulatory compliance programs in Distribution Centers and Wendy’s restaurants. This includes the execution of all product recalls. The Director will also provide the technical expertise in these areas to Wendy’s Corporate, Brand Management and Franchisees Globally. In the US, the Director will lead a team of Regional Food Safety & QA Managers to coordinate the QA work and represent Wendy’s interests during complaint investigations, foodborne illness claims, regulatory inspections to ensure food safety science focus in order to drive the desired results. Internationally, the Director will work with the International leadership, International Product QA and Regional Teams to coordinate the same. Specific Responsibilities IncludeProvide leadership and technical, science base expertise in food safety, quality assurance and regulatory compliance programs and, works with the VP of QA, to create a strategy and direction for the Global QA restaurant team. Establishes strong working relationships with a variety of cross-functional teams across all levels of the national and global organization, for training, implementation and enforcement of food safety, quality and regulatory requirementsManages a team of FSQA professionals in the US and will partner with functional peers across the company to ensure that the organization maintains food safety, quality standards and regulatory compliance across all restaurants in the US and Distribution Centers that supply them. Conducts risk assessments for existing and new restaurant procedures related to food (assess regulatory, food safety science, ease of replication). Internationally, the Director will work with the International leadership and Regional Teams to coordinate the same. Oversees the Wendy’s corporate recall program, ensuring pro-active communications with operations, restaurants, Risk Management, Customer Care and QA Team and effective execution of recalls across the organizationHas responsibilities for ongoing compliance with federal and local food safety regulations in the US. Provides technical expertise for compliance with regulatory requirements for internationalLeads the response to any regulatory inspections, complaints and/or foodborne illness investigations, as appropriate, and will proactively solicit, build and enhance relationships with regulatory agencies to bolster the company’s reputation, connections and resources in the areas of food safety, quality and regulatory complianceActs as a key spokesperson and subject matter expert to the company’s customers and other stakeholders on the topics of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
