What you'll do Overview In this role, the Manager of Global Energy Initiatives will be responsible for creating, implementing and measuring energy efficiency initiatives with a focus on cost reduction and return on investment for both the US and International markets. In addition, this role will manage cost bench marking for Design to Value (DTV) initiatives, prototypes and market specific VE initiatives. Specific Responsibilities Include: 1. Create, implement, and measure energy and water efficiency initiatives with a focus on cost reduction and return on investment for both the US and International markets Provide ideas and solutions around continuous improvement to our ongoing energy and water initiatives Attend industry events and symposiums to maintain high degree of insight into cutting edge energy trends Develop new tools and resources, utilizing our data collection processes, to allow the business to make informed decisions around how we use energy and to drive down costs Manage and update the Energy Times internal Wendy’s publication Pilot and implement solutions, and set roll out plans with cross functional partners 2. Manage cost benchmarking for DTV initiatives, prototypes and market specific VE initiatives Participate in and provide leadership on cost comparison exercises, evaluation of alternate resources, and ad hoc market specific VE project Prepare new builds and yearly cost updates for the internal teams and franchisee disclosure agreement Manage third party consultants in US and abroad to provide new design and cost benchmark information 3. Manage and provide guidance, within area of expertise, for the Better Buildings Challenge, carbon disclosure project as well as greenhouse gas inventory Partner with XF team members to ensure that data is accurate and that YOY comparisons are appropriately leveled to ensure accuracy Manage and expand the Wendy’s Energy Challenge Program Support communications team providing information for yearly CSR report 4. Act as subject matter expert on engineering systems within the restaurant environment with a focus on HVAC to ensure that the correct solutions are being implemented into restaurants and that the company is driving toward the most energy efficient options Review and approve specifications in concert with outside consultant Manage MEP design updates on current and new building prototype globally with consultant support Monitor and maintain focus on trends in HVAC design to guide the business in appropriate decision making and equipment selection 5. Attend regular meetings and maintain cross functional partnerships to ensure alignment across the organization for all initiatives related to the role.
