Manager – IT Vendor Governance

Overview

Are you a strong relationship builder with a solid understanding of service contract delivery? The Manager of IT Vendor Governance’s initial objective is to build a governance model for the strategic management of all current and future IT vendors in the Wendy’s system. IT Vendor Governance will be the organizational authority driving vendor management practices to be operationally executed within the different IT functions.The role will evolve to be a center of excellence for IT Vendor Governance driving the execution of policy, procedure, and standards through channels like training, monitoring, and feedback. This role will be vital to the direction of Wendy’s IT organization by providing key input into strategic decision making for Wendy’s IT Leadership. You will interface regularly with various business leaders throughout the enterprise, including Legal, Finance, Internal Audit, and Enterprise Risk Management as appropriate.

Specific Responsibilities Include

  • Partner cross-functionally to build, maintain, and enhance a strategic IT vendor management governance model for the Wendy’s system focused on: vendor governance, contract management and compliance, procurement operations, vendor management performance, sourcing and category management.
  • Own relationship management responsibilities for select, strategic IT vendor partner(s) as assigned.
  • Manage and measure performance of the IT vendor portfolio between internal customers and external vendors reporting status to IT leadership on a standard cadence.
  • Analyze existing IT vendor relationships to assess strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for strategic decision making.
  • Ensure effective communication between the organization and each IT vendor by establishing an IT vendor management communication strategy.
  • Manage escalation and arbitration of relationship and operational issues if other avenues fail.

What we expect from you

Education / Experience

  • Post-secondary education in an analytical field (business administration, economics, psychology, computer science, mathematics, statistics, finance, etc.) or equivalent work experience.
  • Five or more years of formal experience managing complex IT contracts and relationships or experience as an IT vendor managing customer accounts and relationships. Alternate experience in related IT vendor management functions will be considered as well.
  • Experience working in IT that has resulted in an understanding of technology and its applications.
  • Desired skills:• Strong relationship and interpersonal skills including team building, collaboration, communication, influence, negotiation, dispute resolution & mediation. Demonstrated ability to communicate with IT & business leaders to understand requirements, expectations & value measures.• Thorough understanding of vendor organizations, including motivations, strategic plans, decision-making processes, market challenges and potential issues (political, influence) that impact vendor relationships• Knowledge of market trends in contract and pricing models, service delivery and performance management, and innovation • Ability to understand internal customer and vendor business goals and strategies with the intent of establishing and managing to a common set of goals• Demonstrated capacity to understand complex issues and initiatives and the ability to sustain communication on these topics with business and technology-savvy individuals.
