As a key member of the Global Development team, you support the Wendy’s brand growth plan by driving the strategy, process, tools and teams required to effectively identify, evaluate and select new growth opportunities with company and franchise partners. In this manager-level role, you will drive US new unit growth through market planning, site acquisition, franchise consulting and contributing to the team in all things related to restaurant growth. You will facilitate transactions through the vetting and approval of new sites for franchisees and the company, and provide support in both the traditional and non-traditional development arenas. This role will be based in the great American west and will report directly to the Development Director - West. Reporting to the Development Director, this role directs all real estate activities within the assigned territory (Division, Province or Brand), including DMA market planning for new restaurants, reinvestment needs of existing restaurants, and managing the portfolio of existing properties. Directs the execution of the market plans through the procurement of new restaurant sites, relocation and disposal of existing underperforming restaurants, and lease renegotiations and other portfolio management of existing properties. Responsibilities include corporate restaurants and consulting on franchise restaurants. Brand positions, although including all aspects of the job function, may be focused on specific aspects of the position purpose and key accountabilities. Specific Responsibilities Include: Directs all DMA Market Planning activity on an on-going basis. Procures new restaurant sites for Corporate and Franchise on an on-going basis. Directs the flow of real estate transactions by coordinating the efforts of others (Real Estate Brokers, Real Estate Coordinator, Legal, Field Engineering, Operations, and Franchise Development). Procures replacement sites for underperforming restaurants as identified in DMA Market Plans. Consults with the Franchise community on all real estate related matters.
