What you'll do

Overview

The Specialist-Tax Accounting is responsible for the preparation of the quarterly income tax provision for our consolidated group of US subsidiaries & affiliates in accordance with GAAP and SEC rules.  This includes supporting the evaluation of the company’s tax positions for the recognition and measurement criteria in ASC 740, reconciling all related income tax accounts, and analysis of variances from budgets/forecasts.  The position will also be required to periodically research various tax accounting topics as well as preparing accounting for income tax inputs used for modeling, projection, and planning purposes.

Specific Responsibilities Include:                                            

  • Prepare the income tax provision and related workpapers in accordance with ASC 740, Sarbanes-Oxley, the SEC and the Company’s policies and procedures.  Analyze differences from prior year and Company forecasts.
  • Complete processes to ensure proper recognition, measurement, and disclosure of tax positions under FIN48 and FAS5, including quarterly evaluations of legislative developments.
  • Prepare income tax account reconciliations, ensure the completion of other internal control procedures, and maintain required SOX documentation.
  • Complete processes to ensure timely recognition and financial reporting of specific transactions, business initiatives, and income tax events.
  • Prepare income tax disclosures included in forms 10-Q, 10-K, and others as required; periodic reporting of income taxes included in separate company financial statements of subsidiaries and effective tax rate and other analysis of income tax amounts.
  • Prepare federal, state, and international provision to return adjustments and related supporting schedules
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned, including preparing inputs for tax forecasting and research on various tax accounting topics
  • Assist with the maintenance of the tax accounting software and changes to the processes described above.

What we expect from you

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/ Accounting or equivalent experience 
  • Experience in use of computer systems, including experience with accounting (Oracle) and tax software (One Source Tax Provision) and MS Office
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Effective time management and resource management including the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Exhibit attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
