We keep it real at Wendy’s, so let’s have real talk. 2020 has been hard, right? But through it all, we’re proud of our people for keeping safety one of our top priorities. Together, we’re taking extra steps to protect each other and our customers. From additional training to enhanced cleaning and safety gear, we’re working hard to do what’s best. Not only are we constantly learning and adapting using guidance from the Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization, we’re focused on helping each other – the way families do.
Temperature check! During this time, communication is key. That’s why before each shift, we ask every employee a set of questions to make sure they’re ready to get to work as safely as possible. Our questions follow guidance from public health experts – and are designed to pinpoint symptoms and evaluate possible exposures to COVID-19.
When it comes to safety gear while on duty, we don’t cut corners. We provide all employees with clean, unused face masks and gloves for each shift, as well as replacements throughout as needed. We also have strict standards in place to ensure everyone practices effective handwashing and the proper application, use and disposal of safety gear.
If you wanna go the distance for safety, we got you. Our teams are managed in accordance with the Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization. From our “hot sheet” of restaurant zones to our “social distancing kits” with visual aids, we keep an open line of communication around requirements and occupancy restrictions.
Employees from every corner of Wendy’s have come together to develop our restaurant protocols. These comprehensive processes provide clear direction for COVID-19 prevention and investigation across our locations. And as things change, so do we. We’re constantly updating our protocols based on the latest guidance from public health officials.
We don’t only keep it real, we keep it squeaky clean. Our enhanced cleaning procedures have been deployed since the onset of the pandemic. Across our restaurants and office environments, our employees follow specific guidelines to sanitize high-touch areas and beyond using products that are EPA-approved to combat COVID-19.
We’ve taken a close look at every aspect of our business to find new ways to increase safety. Here’s a look at what we’re doing to reduce employee and customer exposure:
Around here, we know that knowledge is power. That’s why we’ve worked hard to create an additional set of virtual training – all designed to help our employees stay safe. Here are just some of the courses we offer:
